Meet Dr. Truntzer

Jeremy Truntzer, M.D. is an Orthopedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery. Dr. Truntzer's clinical practice includes management of injuries of the knee, shoulder, elbow and hip using arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques. He also performs advanced shoulder care including total shoulder and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.
Dr. Truntzer is from Palo Alto, California where he completed his early education and developed his passion for sports, especially soccer. He was recruited to attend Harvard University as a scholar-athlete playing four years on the varsity soccer team. Following college, he spent a few years working at a medical device start-up in the heart of Silicon Valley before departing for medical school at the University of California, Irvine. In medical school, Dr. Truntzer was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society for his academic achievements and voted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society by his peers for clinical excellence. Dr. Truntzer started his orthopedic surgery training at Brown University before completing residency at Stanford University. He stayed at Stanford University to pursue subspecialty training in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery. During his fellowship, Dr. Truntzer served on the medical staff for the women’s volleyball team, men's basketball team, and Sacred Heart Preparatory High School.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Truntzer has a passion for research and teaching. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed publications and written multiple book chapters. Dr. Truntzer has received grant funding for his research efforts and has presented at multiple international conferences. Currently, Dr. Truntzer is responsible for teaching and training Stanford medical students and residents. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, traveling and spending time with his wife and two children.
